CHAPTER XVI: STEWIE, PART II

We shared and whined and then everyone had to leave but we collectively VOWED TO THE DEATH TO STAY CLOSE FOREVER, and of course no one really believed that but we meant it anyway.

Suddenly it was just the four of us, but then the doorbell rang again and after a minute Stewie appeared. From the look on his face, he was not the usual happy camper. UH OH.

"Hey," I hollered and he smiled but not his usual ear to ear grin.
"Hey," and my ears perked up. What now with our little group of misfits? What was wrong or was there anything wrong? Hmmm...

"Can I talk to you?" He asked me a bit hesitantly.
"SURE, baby," I said to him. "You know you never have to ask."
He stood for a minute as if contemplating what to do, trying to smile and not succeeding...and I pointed to the seat beside me.
"C'mere. I don't bite," I told him.

"Don't believe him Stew," Zach piped up.
"He bites like a bitch,"
and I swatted him.
Usually I knew that would have brought out a raucous laugh in Stewie but he just stood silently, and then sat a bit uneasily I noticed.

I knew now this was definitely not nothing and turning put my arms around him just as he had done that day at McDonalds for me and then he put his head in my neck and began to softly cry. My heart went into my throat and nobody was saying a word. You could have heard a feather boa drop unceremoniously to the floor and been none the wiser.

This went on for several minutes until finally he sat up a bit and just looked at me.

"You know I love you," he said softly, and I nodded.
"More than that I trust you."
My ears perked up even further.

"I know you don't really know my partner Danny, but something has happened."
"Ok, tell us. What?"
"His father was found dead earlier today."
"OMG," we all said in unison.
"How horrible," I said.
"Yeh."
"There's more to this I think," Zach said echoing the thoughts of all of us.
Stewie just sat, nodding kinda absentmindedly. Then...

"Yeh. I think...
I mean. I don't really know much but...
OG, Dylan. I am so confused."
He just sat for a minute...kneading his hands together and looking more sad than I think I've ever seen anyone look.

"I hate to say this, but...
"Well..." and the silence was deafening.

Suddenly, Alex got up and came over. He gestured to me to move over and then plopped down between Stewie and I. Then he reached out and took Stew in his arms.
"Ok boy, you and me been friends for a long time. Obviously this is bad. Real bad. So, why don't you tell us what is going on, what you suspect, and if you can...then tell us how we can help. We will you know."

I looked at Zach who looked as clueless as I felt. I looked at Tony who just shrugged. Friends for a long time? WHAT? ALEX AND STEWIE?

Good God. Is there NO END to the surprises from ol' Alexpoo? But I didn't say anything. I just sat and waited for the avalanche/tidal wave/apocalypse/tale of two titties or whatever to befall us.

Film at 11.

Suddenly Stewie turned and looked at me...
"Oh God Dylan, I'm so afraid. I love Danny. SO much. But..."
and that but kinda trailed off...not usually the good kind of butt either.

I took his hand in mine but I had no clue what to do next.

He turned back to Alex, then back to me, and then back to Alex...and then started to tear up again.

Oh this is NOT good, I guessed and rightly.
Oh my God.
